Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Pangaea (“the service”, “we”, “us”), an independent browser-based multiplayer strategy game. By creating an account or playing, you agree to these Terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, or abuse other players, including via in-game chat;
  • cheat, exploit bugs, automate gameplay (bots), or attempt to tamper with the authoritative game server or its dice rolls;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or to our systems;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • use the service for anything illegal under the laws that apply to you.

Accounts

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password secure. If you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else, please contact us at support@pangaea.game.

Payments and refunds

Playing Pangaea as a guest is free — anyone can join a game via a shared link with no purchase. Hosting your own games is a paid, one-time purchase:

  • Commander Pass — $9.99 USD (one-time). Lets you host unlimited private games (up to 6 players each), with integrated video chat, all game variants, and no ads. Your guests never pay. You can buy it outright, or start a 30-day free trial (see below).
  • Founding General — $14.99 USD (one-time, limited). Available to the first 500 buyers. Includes everything in the Commander Pass plus a Founder badge, your handle in the credits, and early access to new maps and variants.

These are one-time purchases, not ongoing subscriptions — we do not bill you on a recurring basis. Prices are shown in US dollars at checkout; applicable taxes, if any, are added there. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card details. Purchases are tied to the account that bought them and are non-transferable.

Commander Pass 30-day free trial. If you start a free trial, we collect your payment details upfront but charge you nothing for 30 days. You get full Commander hosting during the trial. At the end of the 30 days we charge a single $9.99 and the Commander Pass is then yours permanently — it does not auto-renew or bill again. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends from your account page; if you cancel, you keep access until the trial ends and are never charged. See the Refund Policy for what happens after a charge.

For cancellations and refunds, see our Refund Policy. A granted refund revokes the related host access (and, for a Founding General refund, releases the founder number).

Intellectual property

The Pangaea game, including its code, art, map, and original gameplay copy, belongs to us. The map is loosely inspired by the real-world geography of Earth; we make no claim to any country or continent name as a trademark.

Pangaea is an independent strategy game inspired by classic war games. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Hasbro, Inc. “Risk” and related marks belong to their respective owners.

The service is provided “as is”

We provide the service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the service’s availability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or reliability. Live matches may be interrupted by network or infrastructure issues; while we try to make matches resilient to disconnects and crashes, we cannot guarantee that any given match will complete.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed USD $50.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms (for example: cheating, abuse, or harassment). You may stop using the service at any time and request account deletion via support@pangaea.game.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email at the address on your account. Continued use of the service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute relating to the service or these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.
